The Off the Wall Dance Troupe

Dancer

What usually is a small production of three or four figures became a major project this year thanks to the Art-Scape Gallery in Walnut Creek. This gallery wants the dancers as an ongoing presence.

Who knows what the future holds for this determined dance troupe that makes up in attitude what it lacks in other abilities ordinarily associated with classical ballet? Since the various dancers seem to be leaving the gallery with gay abandon, the troupe will continue to have an ever changing cast of characters.

The images below demonstrate the making of a dancer -- or two.

The dancers are created from thrown parts.
The vases become the torso the knobs heads and the long forms arms and legs. Paper acts as supports for legs, which are particularly weak until they are completely dry.

The first figure is a male dancer who seems to want to dance lead in Swan Lake.

The second figure is a young woman from the chorus. She seems to have no aspirations other than looking her best.

Prices for the dancers are set by the
Art-Scape Gallery.
